LGNZ welcomes MBIE’s whole-of-system approach to the Building Consent Review, but we’re disappointed to see the issue of liability deemed out of scope. Our submission focuses on the role of councils as Building Consent Authorities, and highlights key issues with the current system such as accountability, capacity, capability and fragmentation.
