Submission on Māori Wards and Constituencies Bill

LGNZ supports the Local Electoral (Māori wards and Māori constituencies) Amendment Bill. Its objective, to remove the legislative provisions that allow for a poll to overturn a council decision to establish a Māori ward or constituency, has the full support of LGNZ, which has actively promoted the removal of the poll for a number of years.
