Environment Select Committee on the Fast-Track Approvals Bill

LGNZ and Taituarā are pleased to submit on the Fast-track Approvals Bill (FTA). Local government is a critical partner in the delivery of the resource management system and infrastructure. Most obviously the FTA affects local government’s roles and responsibilities for consenting and planning under the RMA, as well as its monitoring, compliance, and enforcement functions. It will also affect its democratic role and the services, infrastructure and assets councils provide and own on behalf of communities. And it will likely affect future investment priorities.
