Mission -
To represent and promote the national interests of local government.
Sector vision -
Good local governance across New Zealand. LGNZ is succeeding when councils understand and respond to the needs of their communities, and have the powers, skills and resources to do so.
Organisational vision -
The national voice of local government. Our members are the bodies corporate that constitute the regional and district councils across New Zeland. LGNZ is the peak body of local government in New Zealand, and only LGNZ has the mandate to comprehensively represent the interests of elected members, managers and staff of councils across New Zealand.
